If you’ve ever used medicare.gov’s Plan Finder tool, you may have noticed the Overall Plan Rating column.
Each year, Medicare calculates these ratings for Medicare health and prescription drug plans. There are over 50 different categories used as criteria to determine the final overall rating.Medicare provides star ratings to help beneficiaries assess plan quality. In fact, there’s a useful publication on choosing quality health plans by CMS. It explains how to use plan ratings as a quality metric.
